Mac OS X Lion 10.7 on Dell 15R (N5110) - Installation Guide

No introduction goes here. We all know that Mac is best operating system for everyday use. The reason to have it on regular notebook is its price. Again.

I will show you how to install latest Mac OS version on Dell notebook, making everything possible working.

Dell N5110 specs:
Intel Core i7 2630QM
6Gb DDRIII 1333MHz
Intel HD Graphics 3000 / NVIDIA GT525M 1024Mb
640Gb HDD

What works:
Proper CPU and RAM detection
Native AICPUPM (SpeedStep and sleep)
Internal screen with native resolution and brightness
QE/CI
IDT sound (headphones, microphone)
USB 2.0 / 3.0
CD/DVD
PS2 keyboard and touchpad

So it works like a charm at 95% of time.

STEP I - Preparing Lion GM USB Stick
1. Use Disk Utility to format 8Gb stick. Use GUID and HFS+
2. Use tool named Show All Files and find BaseSystem.dmg in root of Lion ESD
3. Unpack this dmg to USB stick
4. Copy mach_kernel from ESD to / of your stick
5. Copy dsdt.aml to / of your stick
6. Copy Packages folder from ESD to /System/Installation
All done.

STEP II - Preparing Boot USB Stick
Things you need to have on bootable USB:
1. Chameleon 2 RC5 + Theme
2. MacBook Pro 8,3 smbios.plist and boot.plist
3. Kexts: FakeSMC, NullCPUPM (for first boot only), PS2 and USB 3.0
4. Applications: Kext Helper, Show All Files ect

STEP III - Installation
Boot with your stick and install Mac OS, it should be easy. I recommend install on clean GUID drive.

STEP IV - Getting things work
1. To get WiFi work, edit Atheros plugin info.plist in 80211Family.kext
2. To get audio work, use latest VoodooHDA. I recommend use mine, because its edited for our device and has volume control fixes.
3. To get sleep and speedstep work use SpeedStepper.
4. Install VoodooBattery.kext, PS2 kext, USB 3.0 kext

Everything should work now.
Thank you for reading, I will improve this guide as I check it myself.
